Message from the Principal:

Ya'ah'teeh, Dear Students, parents, and community members,

Welcome to the 2024 – 2025 school year! I am excited to be here at Window Rock High School as your assistant principal. We are happy that we are able to open our doors to our community. Each year one of our goals is to develop Scout PRIDE in each student so that we can achieve our mission of college and career readiness for students as they navigate their high school years. At WRHS we want to prepare for success, respect school and community, interact with everyone safely, have dependable and responsible actions, and be enthusiastic about learning. Please ensure that your students are in attendance daily and communicate with us when your child is absent from school for any reason. Daily school attendance correlates to student success in school.

WRHS strongly encourages all students to get vaccinated for their safety and well-being and that of others. We will continue to follow the Navajo Nation Covid-19 guidelines to maximize our ability to provide a safe learning environment for our students and staff. Students and staff are encouraged to continue to wear their masks while at school. We will encourage everyone to take responsibility in following personal safety recommendations, including using hand sanitizer, frequent washing of hands, and most importantly, staying home when one is sick.

WRHS will be running a 7-period day with 55 minute classes. The 7th period class is meant to be a support and development class to help students with basic academic skills and knowledge in English/Reading, Math, and Science that they might have missed out on during their remote and online learning. It will also help to prepare students for their district and state assessments, including NWEA, AZSci, ACT ASPIRE, and the ACT. On Fridays during the 7th period, students will be meeting with their teacher-mentors to support academic success and build positive rapport with their peers and teachers. They will also work on the Dream Navigator online curriculum for life, school, and career planning. We are also offering after-school tutoring from Monday through Thursday each week. Saturday Academy is also available for seniors needing to get credits through our online APEX curriculum.

We look forward to meeting you and working with you this school year as we work toward our vision, mission, and goals. Let’s have a positive and successful school year. Aa hee’ hee’
