Welcome, STEM and Robotics students to the 2024-2025 school year! My name is Cheryl Farnsworth and this is my 9th year teaching at Window Rock High School.
In STEM, you will research and do projects based on applications of Science, Technology, and Math using Engineering processes and principles. In Robotics, you will build and program robots, compete in the new VEX game, High Stakes, and learn to program.
If you are looking towards your future, employment opportunities in STEM occupations (includes applications of Robotics) are growing faster than non-STEM occupations and STEM workers earn higher wages. A university or college degree is usually required but work experience and a certificate from a technical college may be sufficient for the job you want. I encourage you to explore your options - the critical thinking and technical skills that you learn in STEM and/or Robotics will be invaluable as they can be transferred to a wide variety of applications.
