I am Bitter Water, born for the Mexican Clan, adopted by the Tangle People Clan. My maternal grandfather’s clan is Big Water, and my paternal grandfather’s clan is the One Who Walks Around. I am originally from Many Farms, Arizona. I was trained specifically to be an Immersion teacher from Dine College and Arizona State University. I have taught and worked only in the immersion setting for the past 20 years. I wholeheartedly support and advocate for our Din4 language and culture - Our Way of Life, so that our children can have a sense of identity and self. "Our Dine children, language and culture are sacred – Dine bizaad bee hahoozhood."
Nihizaad bee hiinii'na doo baa aha niidzin: Our language is our essence. Our forefathers fought for our existence. Honor them, our elders, our children, and our Nation - speak it, teach it, live it!
